PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The mission of the Department of Campus Recreation is to provide student, faculty, staff, and other members of the Valdosta State University Campus community, the opportunity to enjoy lifelong activities while enhancing their well-being. The objective of this facility is to promote fitness and wellness activities by providing access to safe, quality facilities, equipment, and programs. The Student Recreation Center is located on a 2.06 acre site just west of the main Valdosta State University campus. In keeping with the Spanish Mission motif prevalent on the VSU campus, IPG and Bond+Wolfe Architects, Inc. designed the new Student Recreation Center to maintain continuity of the campus. The facility's 67,641 SF includes a lounge, indoor pool, free weights room, aerobics, natatorium, climbing wall, racquetball courts, and multipurpose forum area.
